I'm wearing my Twins jersey today...just because, why not! Number 7 on my back, Twins on my front. Of course I'm getting into the Twins spirit a little early, but I love my Twins and baseball and I can't wait for Spring Training and the season to start up.

Countdown to Twins Spring Training

The 2014 schedule for the Minnesota Twins starts with the Twins opening the season against the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field on March 31 for a three-game series.

These games happen before the Twins head to Cleveland to face the Indians for three games at Progressive Field. It marks the fourth time in five years the Twins will open the year on the road after having Opening Day at Target Field in '13!

Opening day is on March 31st and this means in 95 days. I CAN'T WAIT!

I'm Thankful for the Minnesota Twins!

As Thanksgiving is coming up, I can't help but to think of all the things I'm thankful for. And after family, friends and my health, obviously the Minnesota Twins are at the top of the list! Although they didn't played their game this season, the Minnesota Twins are my baseball team and I will always be thankful for them!

Minnesota Twins 2013 Season Recap

I've been dreading writing this blog post all week. The season recap. The final touches on Twins baseball for the season. Baseball season is over, and so is my life. I mean, I'm kind of kidding, but you know how much I love my Twinkies! Keep reading for my take on the Twins 2013 season.

The Twins started the 2013 season on April 1, with a game against the Detroit Tigers (losing Opening Day 2-4). Of course they did. And then the Twins went to ended their season with a 5-1 loss against the Cleveland Indians. I mean, at least it was a beautiful day?

And the Twins finished their season with a 66-96 record. I honestly think this looks better than it was. I don't remember going to one game this summer where the Twins won. They finished 4th in the American League Central standings ahead of the Chicago White Sox, which helped them to avoid the last position for the first time since 2010.

The team continued to struggle with offense and bullpen rotation, despite the off-season acquisitions of veterans Vance Worley, Mike Pelfrey and Kevin Correia.

The worst part of this season was that my man, Joe Mauer, was hurt at the end of the season and my other main man, Justin Morneau was traded before the end of the season. It seemed like fans didn't want to go to Twins games to watch the team loose without any of their star players.

I still love my Twins! I know we're in for some changes and next season will be different!

Walters Holds White Sox, Morneau Boosts Twins

The Minnesota Twins bullpen hasn't had a whole lot to smile about this year. Then came P.J. Walters.

Walters threw his first career complete game as the Twins routed the Chicago White Sox 9-2 on Tuesday.

Five relievers combined to throw 6 1/3 innings in the Twins 16-4 loss to the Brewers. Five were used for an inning apiece in Saturday's 11 inning win.

Walters (2-1) cruised in his third start of the season to snap Chicago's four-game winning streak. He gave up a solo homer to Gordon Beckham with one out in the first inning. Walters allowed little else. He struck out eight and allowed just five hits and two runs.

Minnesota's offense came to life early (coming to life at all this season has been a rarity). The Twins sent nine men to the plate in the second inning against Gavin Floyd. Alexi Casilla's two-run double put the Twins on the board. Jamey Carroll and Denard Span followed with run-scoring singles.

Justin Morneau hit a three-run homer for the Twins.

Cross your fingers for another win tonight. I hate the White Sox ;)

Twins Travel to Miller Park

Celebrate the start of your summer vacation or simply kick the summer off right. Take a road trip to Milwaukee! The Twins travel to Miller Park to take on the Brewers in a three-game series, 5/18-20.

Miller Park is a great baseball arena, take advantage of the easy travel between Minneapolis and Milwaukee!

Scott Diamond Adds Fire to Twins Rotation

Scott Diamond was pulled after only three innings in Triple-A Rochester. The pull wasn't a result of Diamond performing poorly, it was to preserve him for his Major League call-up.

The Twins will use Diamond to replace Liam Hendriks in the rotation. The hope is that Diamond will bring some fire to the Twins rotation. The Twins currently have the worst rotation in the majors. Minnesota's starters have a 6.73 ERA - almost a full run worse than every other starting rotation in the majors. That same rotation has stuck out a major league-worst 4.66 batters per nine innings.

Scott Diamond came to the Twins with a 4-1 record and a 2.60 ERA.

After Tuesday's game, Diamond moved to 1-0 for the Twins. The Twins beat the Angels 5-0 as Diamond pitched seven scoreless innings. Diamond allowed just four hits.

Minnesota Twins Welcome Ex-Tiger Clete Thomas

The Minnesota Twins claimed outfielder Clete Thomas off waivers from the Detroit Tigers. Jim Leyland, the Tigers manager, said he wasn't surprised that the Twins claimed him - apparently Ron Gardenhire has always loved Thomas.

Clete Thomas was a young bat boy for the Minnesota Twins. In high school, the bat boy was the son of a Twins scout, and the Twins selected him in the fifth round of the 2003 draft. He chose to attend Auburn.

Thomas hit .210 during spring training. His first swing at Target Field launched a drive toward the power alley in right.

M&M Boys Own the Night

Mauer started the rally last night, or in the words of Ryan Doumit, woke the sleeping dragon. Mauer hit his first homer at Target Field since August 18, 2010 when he yanked a 0-1 cut fastball 260 feet down the right field line.

Then Morneau put the Twins up 8-7 with a two-run shot into the upper deck in right center.

Before the M&M Boys came up clutch... they were opposite of clutch. The crowd of over 30,000 was full of grumbles when the boys failed twice to bring in runners from third when the Twins were down by 5.

The home runs hit by the M&M Boys were the kinds of home runs the Twins never got last season. The Twins hit the third fewest HRs in the majors with only 103.

The Twins are two games under .500 and have a team earned-run average of 5.65. However, the lineup boasted by the hometown team should prove to be deep and powerful.

Here's to hoping the Twins pull out a win over Texas today... then we will really have something to write home about.

Twins on Winning Streak

Hey! What do you know? The Twins are on their first win streak - 2 w's in a row at Target Field!

If you watched the game last night, you probably almost had a heart attack given the thrills of the game. The Twins started out with four uninspiring losses, but have come alive the past two days at Target Field.

The Twins took a three-game series from the LA Angels (2-for-3) this past week. Recall that the Angels were one of the most active teams in the off season, picking up highly desired free agents.

I love a nail biter when we come out on top. However, there is something to be said about a straight-up win. Twins fans might not be able to take this kind of fun for 156 more games...

Let's pound Texas... and let Twins fans sigh with relief.

Morneau Hits 2 Homers for Twins

Morneau has had a slumping spring training, but his first two spring training home runs of the year left him feeling good.

He entered the game Saturday 4 for 37 with two RBIs, but hit a two-run homer in the first and a three-run drive in the fourth. Both HRs were off AL Rookie of the Year Jeremy Hellickson.

Minnesota had 14 runs and 14 hits through the first four innings on their way to a 19-4 win over Tampa Bay.

Luke Hughes went 5-for-5 with a home run and two doubles.

Morneau has been anchoring the designated hitter spot recently, but hopes to return to 1B soon.

Ben Revere Poised to Play Right Field

Minnesota Twins fans have grumbled that Ben Revere just doesn't have the arm to play in center field. He's got the stuff to be a great defensive player... except he probably couldn't throw out a guy at home.

Ron Gardenhire acknowledges this. However, he said his arm is good enough for right field. Right field at Target Field is the shortest place to throw the ball home.

Gardenhire revealed that Josh Willingham will play left field will Revere will likely be in right.

Twins 7, Tigers 3

Take a look at the heading. Hang on to it in your mind... it may be the only time all year our boys top the Tigers. I hope not... but maybe.

The Minnesota win made it clear Detroit has defense issues.

Miguel Cabrera was sidelined after getting hit in the face. Brandon Inge and Ryan Raburn are competing for second base, though Inge has been manning 3rd.

Let us hope the win is a sign of things to come for the Twins. I can't handle a bad season.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka Reassigned to Triple-A

The Minnesota Twins assigned Tsuyoshi Nishioka to Triple-A Rochester on Monday. The Twins hope the struggling infielder can find a groove, build some confidence and relax a little in the minor leagues.

Nishioka was hitting .240 in nine games this spring. After a difficult first season with the Twins, Nishioka has looked no more comfortable at the plate or in the field this spring training season.

Nishioka was a five-time All-Star, a batting champion and Gold Glove winner in Japan.

The move will shore up Luke Hughes' shot to make the team.
